    Participants will be able to:

    • Identify and analyze the personal impact(s) of their own creative practices

    • Interpret and analyze the film and the artwork depicted in the film, on their own and through discussion

    • Describe how creativity can help in understanding feelings

"Creativity as a Tool for Wellness" invites students to consider their own creativity and how it can be used to support their mental health journeys. After a free write in which they explore ways in which they are creative, students will watch a film featuring an artist who uses his art to navigate depression and alcohol misuse. Through structured prompts, students will reflect on their own creative practices and how they can use creativity as a force for good in their own lives.

Note: This class includes two Free Write opportunities in which students will be exploring concepts independently. We do not recommend requiring these exercises to be shared with the instructor or other class members, as it can inhibit creativity and flow.
