How do I decide if I want to use optional slides in my Class?

~2m

Many of our Classes include a set of optional slides. This is extra content that you can add if you want to go deeper on a specific topic within a class. Here's how to decide if the optional slide(s) will support your goals.

Check what the optional slides offer.

Scroll through the slide deck. Optional slides are clearly marked with a turquoise image at the top of the slide, and purple text. They usually fall into two categories:

  • Extra discussion questions
  • Additional resource reviews

Consider your time.

Optional slides can stretch a short class into a longer one. If you're on a tight schedule, you might skip them, but if you have the time and space it might be nice to further enhance learning.

Think about your Participants.

  • Do they like more discussion? Use the extra prompts.
  • Would they benefit from deeper mental health context? Add the resource review slides.

Tips & Notes

  • You don’t need to use all—or any—of the optional slides when they are offered. The learning objectives for each class are achievable using just the base slides.
  • Each Class page shows a visual run-of-show, including where the optional slides fit in and how much time they will add.
