Visualizing Lies is a visual poem attacking the difficult topics of depression, anxiety, and overall mental health. The filmmaker’s goals were to help break mental health stigma within their community and shine a light on the experience beneath a ‘high functioning’ exterior.
Justin Jeffers
Devonnie A. Black, a Jamaica-born, New York-raised storyteller, writes and performs narratives inspired by real-life experiences. She graduated in Theatre and Performance from SUNY Purchase College and currently resides in Seattle. Justin Michael Jeffers, a 27-year-old visual artist from Seattle, is a freelance Director/Editor. He uses his degree in Digital Arts and experience in film and photography to create unique, culture-reflecting stories.

A 2012 graduate of SUNY Purchase College, she now lives in Seattle, drawing inspiration from real-life situations to create theatrical narratives. Justin Michael Jeffers, a 27-year-old visual artist based in Seattle, is a freelance Director/Editor focused on telling stories that reflect his culture and community. A 2016 graduate of the University of Oregon, he uses his film and photography expertise to develop a unique style.
